Help Julia Stay Warm

Donation protected
Julia's furnace quit. It was the same furnace that was installed when her house was built in 1970. For years her husband, now deceased, maintained it so it ran every winter without fail. Her son-in-law tried to repair it, but it's old enough now that they don't make the part it needs. Also, it was not a high efficiency furnace so, it really needed replacing anyway. She lives on a fixed income and had a stroke back in February. She is 79 and cold all of the time. Currently, the only heat she has is from a small infrared heater near her chair, and covering up with blankets. She has been leaving her faucets dripping to try to keep the pipes from freezing. When her husband passed in 2008, she was left with all the bills plus the house payment still, so a major purchase like this is nearly impossible for her. She only has one credit card, but not enough left on it for a purchase of this size. For those of you who know us, you know it's hard for us to ask for help, of any kind. I just thought, "I have to try. " Any help is greatly appreciated. Let's help keep Julia warm and safe this winter.
