Hello Everyone!
For those of you who do not know me, my name is Julia Reeves and I am a sophomore in the College of Arts and Sciences at Cornell University. I have recently been offered the unique opportunity to attend Horizons School of Technology in SoMa, San Francisco, California from May 29, 2018, to Aug 17, 2018. The Horizons Summer Immersive Program is a highly competitive program in which I will learn how to build websites, mobile and desktop applications in an intensive full-stack JavaScript curriculum. I am asking for your assistance in fundraising for this life-changing opportunity.

At Horizons, I will be immersed in a world of technology with a syllabus developed by engineers at leading technology companies. Horizons also brings world-class speakers such as successful entrepreneurs, engineers, and investors to teach the students about entrepreneurialism and business development as it pertains to tech. Moreover, at the end of the first half of the program, I will have the opportunity to develop my own app, join a project team, or even get an internship at a local start-up. This highly selective program attracts thousands of students from hundreds of universities but accepts very few applicants. This is absolutely an opportunity I cannot miss!
Today, as a young woman raised by a village full of teachers, family, friends, and even kind-hearted strangers, I want to be able to reciprocate the blessings I’ve been given by living a life devoted to uplifting and sharing my gifts with others. As the world becomes more dependent on technology, we need community-minded people to help us stay grounded and focus on developing technologies that give back to our community. At Horizons Summer Immersive Program, I will develop skills that I will use to make an impact on people’s lives. With the experience I gain at Horizons School of Technology Summer Immersive Program, I will be able to design and develop applications that could change the world!
As a person who comes from a rather humble financial background, I am currently a student at Cornell University thanks to significant financial aid.
