Help Judy Fight Glio

Donation protected
This is my dear friend, Judy Dunnigan, with her devoted husband, JD.  Judy has recently received the diagnosis of a glioblastoma brain tumor and I want to do whatever I can to help my friend and her loving family.

Judy and I worked together for 18 years at Palmer Catholic Academy.  Judy was my teaching assistant and together we made an amazing team!  I would come up with great teaching ideas and Judy would use her creativity and artistic skills to make it happen!  We often joked that we "shared a brain".  I would be thinking about something that needed to be done and I would look  across the room and Judy would already be doing it.  Judy loved our students and worked with them to help them succeed academically, socially and emotionally.  Her care went deep.  I can remember her scrubbing desks before the year started so they would be clean enough that, "I would let my own grandchildren sit here!"  We shared a lot of laughs and also tears....

I was in the room when Judy received word from her doctor, 3 years ago, that she had breast cancer.  We cried, we hugged, but then, with her quiet determination, she stated that it was going to be all right.  She was going to fight this disease, and she did!  With the support of friends and an amazing family, Judy beat breast cancer!

Judy is one of the most caring people I know.  A year and a half ago, she left a job she loved to take care of her ailing parents.  She moved them here to be close to her so she could give them the care they needed.  I remember her saying she was sleeping on the floor next to her father's bed every night because he would become disoriented if he got up during the night and she wanted to be right there to help him.  That's our Judy!  Her Dad sadly passed away and now it was her Mom that needed her.

Judy's mom suffered a stroke shortly after her husband passed away.  She required a lot of care so she was moved to a rehab facility.  But Judy did not turn over her mother's care to the nurses.  Judy was with her mom every day, from the time she worke up until she put her to bed at night.  That is just one example of Judy's love and devotion to her family.

And now our beloved Judy has to fight again, and fight she will.  So many people love Judy and ask me constantly what they can do to help.  Everyone is praying for her recovery, but I wanted to go a step further.  Judy is fighting with all of her might and her family is surrounding her with love and support.  I want her family to concentrate on Judy and not worry about the staggering financial bills that come with fighting this disease.

If you are able, please make a contribution to Judy's fight.  Any donation, no matter how small, is appreciated.  Judy has touched many lives and this is just one way to show Judy and her family that they are loved by many.  We want them to concentrate on Judy's recovery and not worry about the financial burden.  If you are unable to contribute at this time, please keep Judy and her family in your prayers.

We love you, Judy Dunnigan!
