FIREFIGHTER SONS Joshua & Sam critically injured

Donation protected

On November 4th  2020, Joshua and Samuel Lawerence were pulling into the Sams Club in Sanford, FL when they were struck by a vehicle on the passenger side of their Ford Escort. What appeared to be a minor accident turned into the most horrific thing any parent or loved one could imagine....  Two brothers critically injured inside a vehicle with life threatening injuries.

Samuel, the youngest of the three brothers, was seen confused but ambulatory around the accident scene. He was in the midst of attending EMT school, and so his training kicked in, and he was actually walking around checking all of the victims at the scene before he passed out again.  He woke up at the hospital but does not remember doing this at all.  His oldest brother Joshua, was found unresponsive inside the vehicle with obvious head trauma as noted by the responding fire agencies and had to be extracted from the vehicle. Both identified as critical patients.   Joshua we believe saved his brother Samuel’s life, because when he saw the car coming towards him, he sped up and because he did, the car struck the back door behind Samuel instead of Samuel’s door.  It’s been a series of miracles.
Samuel and Joshua are both currently being treated for Traumatic Brain Injuries at Central Florida Regional Hospital in Sanford. Samuel has successfully undergone surgery, where it was discovered that he had a fractured skull and brain bleed. He is recovering well, with a few challenges in his way. Joshua is still in the ICU recovering under a medically induced coma. He has a long road still ahead of him.

Before the accident, Joshua and his younger brother Joseph made the decision to embark on a new journey attempting to move back to Florida from Colorado.  They both found an awesome bachelor pad in Mount Dora to start something new outside their parents home. The day of his home inspection, Joshua shared how excited he is to be starting a new chapter in his life. He mentioned that he couldn’t think of anyone else more excited to share that with then his best friend and brother, Joseph. He went on to say that he hoped their youngest brother Samuel could join them too in the near future, because he missed being around him.   Samuel had planned on attending SEU in Lakeland Florida, so all three brothers had planned to be back together in Florida.

Since the accident, Joseph has flown in from Colorado with his parents (Paul and Cathy) to see Joshua and Samuel. Shocked at the critical nature of their injuries, his faith and belief that his brothers would recover was stronger than ever.

Before the accident, Joshua was making payments towards his student loans. Since he will be out of work during his recovery period, any donations collected will also assist him towards that.

Also in need of funding as the bills of two sons being in ICU and the expenses relating to that, we expect to be extremely challenging.

Thank you so much to everyone our gratefulness is beyond words.  God Bless you and thank you.
