Help Pst., Dr. Joseph N'Da with Hospital Expenses

Donation protected
We are writing for our dear friend, Joseph N’Da and his family. Joseph has dedicated his life to helping others and now he needs our help. In May, Joseph suffered several debilitating strokes and was rushed to Washington Hospital Center, comatose and paralyzed. After two months of being unresponsive and having to breathe with a ventilator, Joseph has recently shown small signs of improvement. While he is able to breathe on his own with oxygen and a trach, he is still nonverbal, on a feeding tube, and unable to sit up on his own. Now the doctors say there is nothing more they can do for him, and the insurance company says it is time for him to leave the hospital. But where can he go? He requires full time care. The family does not have the funds to give him the care he needs.

Joseph and his wife Lou, also known as Dorcas, have been married for many years, and they have two sons, Schalom and John. Joseph has been a Pastor for over 30 years, ministering, counseling, and praying for others. But he is also more than a Pastor. He is a mentor, a friend, a brother, a counselor, and a teacher. He is a devoted father and a loving husband. He believes in fighting to make an impact in his generation. Lou recently graduated and was ready to start a new job when Joseph became ill. She has been unable to work as she has been at the hospital every day to be with Joseph. The boys are in school; Schalom, a graduate of Basis DC, is a college sophomore at Penn State at Erie, and John is a junior at McKinley Technology.

Having a very sick husband/father and the financial burden on the family means that the children’s education and welfare are now in jeopardy. The cost for home care for Joseph is extensive as no one knows when he will regain his full consciousness. The family has exhausted all funding and is currently receiving government help for food and partial rent assistance.

The family is seeking $136,000 to cover Joseph’s needs.

• First, donations will help pay for quality nursing care. He requires round the clock care, and no one person can provide that. Lou must work to support the family but cannot do that if she spends her entire time caring for her husband.

• Second, donations will go to ensure that Joseph is seen by specialists. There must be follow through on the progress that Joseph has made. It is tragic that he will not get proper medical attention because the family cannot afford it.

• Third, any remaining funds will go to support the family during these difficult times.

It has been a struggle for Joseph and his family every day, but by faith, he is battling his way through. Inspired by his courage and commitment to God, we are reaching out to everyone we know and seeking the generosity of strangers to help Pastor Joseph and his family in this fight.

The road to recovery is long for all; regardless of what happens, we thank you in advance for your love, prayers, and support.
