Help Jose Baez pay for his recovery

Donation protected

Hi, My name is John Espejo.

I own and manage a small humble burger restaurant in the inner-richmond district of San Francisco called Uncle Boy's

On August 14 2021 after a hard grave yard shift of cooking and cleaning in the restaurant my friend and employee Jose Baez  was brutally attacked by some despicable assailants who he’s never met before. Jose was walking towards a muni bus stop on 3rd and Geary to get home at around 2:30am-3am in the morning and instead of a ride home he was met by a car which purposely drove straight into him and broke his leg.

The 4 assailants in the car then proceeded to get out of the vehicle and attack him further, kicking and punching Jose all over his body including stomping on his head while another bludgeoned Jose over the head with a some type of hard object knocking Jose out unconscious. He woke up bloodied in San Francisco General Hospital.

As expected Jose can hardly recollect what happened. He remembers waking up with all of his belongings gone; which included his phone, wallet, watch, backpack and the little bit of cash he had with only the clothes he was wearing left to him full of blood.

Jose was admitted to San Francisco's general hospital and had been treated there for multiple severe injuries along with multiple surgeries to attempt to fix his broken leg, fractured and  nose amongst other traumatic injuries and lacerations on his hands and face and a huge hole in his head. He had been there for a few days but had to be released due to the lack of insurance to cover the cost of keeping him admitted.

Jose is kind, hardworking, and an upstanding part of our community, and he did not deserve this violent attack. He has lost his ability to earn for himself due to his disabling injuries and he has a very long road to recovery before he may be able to come back to work again. The recovery will include many costly doctor's visits and Physical Therapy treatments for the rest of the year and beyond which he just has no means of paying for.

As his employer I am doing my best to try and help him but it just is not enough and we need your help to help him in this long strenuous journey he is undertaking to recovery. Anything you can spare will be highly appreciated. If you don’t have any to give, a simple share of this story to your social media networks, friends and families would be so helpful.

Thank you all so much.

More Love More Blessings
