Hello,
On Monday September 24, my father-in-law was driving back to his home from work when a deer darted in front of his car and he crashed into it. As a result, he suffered a contusion to his arm as well as mental distress, and the car was totaled. His insurance company was able to cover most of the damages but still left him owing $3,000 in leftover car payments.
The good news is that the dealership allowed him to obtain a loan on another car right away so that he can go back to work. The bad news is that this has put them in deep debt once again with a steep monthly car payment, when only 1 month ago they were celebrating that they were finally able to get above water for the first time in years. We are saddened to see that this victory has been short lived, as they are now facing this new financial battle that compromises everything that they’ve been hoping to start saving towards.
My in-laws are a pair of hard-working, very loving people. For those who know them, you know they’ve done nothing but give unto to others their whole lives, sometimes to their own peril. We are creating this fundraising effort to show them that they’re love is reciprocated and help them in their time of need.
My aim is to raise at least $21,000 dollars. Out of that contribution, $3000 will go to their leftover payment, and $18,000 will allow him to pay the costs of his new car. We want to keep this a secret from them until the funds are ready to go, in order to surprise them, so if you share this fundraiser on social media, please make sure they cannot see it.
