Help John Webber fight cancer!

Donation protected
Kelli took John to Good Sam ER last night after several days of abdominal pain, and vomiting. He was quickly transferred to UW medical center when they found a new, large tumor in his abdomen.

The tumor is wrapping around his bowel, and compressing parts of his small intestine. We are shocked at how quickly this happened, as he had just had a Ct scan in August that only showed two small (though enlarged) lymph nodes.

We have met with the surgical oncology team and at this time, surgery is not an option due to tumor size and the amount of bowel involved. His team is recommending an oral drug combination that will hopefully (and very quickly) shrink the tumor to provide him with some relief.

We aren't sure how long he will be in the hospital, but we are pretty sure he will be here at least through Monday. He can't eat, and is having quite a bit of pain. I am trying to get approved for fmla so I can be with him as much as possible before I start a new job in mid October. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Second insurance update of the day: Insurance agreed to pay for John's chemo drugs however, they won't pay for the IV nutrition he needs since he is unable to eat. I suppose they assume he can live as a breatharian, but that is obviously not feasible.

*FYI it's $300 a day to feed John.
