Help Joel defend his title in the Winter Series

My name is Joel Dixon-Coen and I am the current Total Karting Zero National Summer Cadet Champion. I began racing go-karts when I was just 9 years old, winning 4 cadet championships in my first season of indoor karting. I then joined Total Karting Zero in 2020, a championship set up by Formula 1 engineer Rob Smedley.

You may be wandering what the ‘Zero’ is for? It means Zero emissions, as I am actually racing all-new electric karts. Total Karting Zero (TKZ) is transforming grassroots motorsport to becoming more focussed on developing young driver talent through electric karts that are equal in performance across the grid. This makes the championship faster, fairer, cheaper and cleaner!

I am also super proud that I was voted winner of the first TKZ Motorsport UK Race & Respect Award, that recognises I have strong values such as respect, fair play, self-control, good manners and sincerity, both on and off the track.

And following a recent test day, my coach gave feedback to Formula 1’s Rob Smedley, saying that I was a “phenomenal driver”, which is amazing from someone at the very top of the game!

My dream is to become a professional racing driver one day but motorsport is really expensive. My parents have already spent ££££s to support me so far but I would really love to follow my dream and go as far as I can. My next target is to defend my title and race in the Total Karting Zero Winter Championship. This runs from October 2021 to February 2022.
