Hey Everyone,
As some of you already know at the beginning of this year my dad's doctor noticed he started losing a lot of weight & was in more pain than his normal everyday pain. She decided to send him for some tests & a full body scan just to make sure everything was okay. When we got all the test results back they found tumors in a few different places. Our next step was to go for a biopsy to see if they were benign. Unfortunately, we got the heart breaking news that my dad has lung cancer. They found a lump on his left lung that has metastasized to his arm, leg & stomach.
Thankfully, they caught it soon enough that he can get treatment & with lots of prayers and positive vibes beat it. We’re so blessed that he has the most amazing team of doctors who set up a treatment plan for him. We had a bit of a rough start, he dropped down to only 135 pounds, became very weak, could barely eat & was too dehydrated to start treatment right away. On April 26th his oncologist admitted him to the hospital to get him strong enough for his first treatment! He was in the hospital for 6 days. While there, they inserted a feeding tube into his stomach so we could feed him & gave him more than 10 bags of fluid, and ran more tests Finally on May 1st he came home & had his first treatment on May 10th! So far he has had two rounds of the six treatments he needs. He goes once every three weeks & gets the chemo through an IV for about 5-6 hours. His oncologist said last visit the tumors feel smaller already, Thank God!
The cancer & everything else he has wrong previous to this, has made him weak (getting stronger everyday) causing my mom to stop working so she can stay home with him, to take care of him, take him back & forth to all his doctors appointment, chemo treatments, and to the hospital when needed. I decided to create a GoFundMe account to raise money to help my parents out with all of his medical bills & the medications he needs.
My dad is my hero, my first love & my number one guy. He’s my reason for living, I work hard everyday for him. My days are brighter when I wake up and see him smiling at me before I leave for work and when I get back home. I would do anything to make his pain go away so he can go back to living a normal(crazy) life. He has always been the type of person to help anyone out at anytime, no matter what they need. This time he’s the one that needs your help. He's so incredibly strong & I know he will beat this horrible disease.
