It is with such a heavy heart that we share the devastating news that our beautiful mum Joanne or as most of you know her as Jo has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer called HER2 positive. This type of breast cancer requires at least 12 months worth of treatment including chemo, surgery and radiation. Mums first round of chemo starts this Friday ( 10th of September 2021).
Unfortunately, this means our mum won't be able to return to work for at least 12 months. Mum is the sole financial provider for herself and our dad Mark as he is medically retired due to an injury.
Anyone that has had the privilege of having our mum in their life would know that she is always putting everyone else first.
She is a truly selfless and an amazing woman and the backbone of our family. She has 3 daughters and 6 grand babies ranging from 3 months – 12 years. Family and Friends have always come first to our mum, whether it be looking after the grandkids, supporting her daughters and husband through hard times, caring for older family members or being that friend, you can call anytime for advice with an open ear and loving heart.
We recently lost our pop who my mum cared for and has helped support and care for our nan since our loss.
It’s now our time to put our mum first and help her kick cancers butt!!
She is a strong woman and with all of our love and support she will get through this, but whilst going through treatment we would like to make life a little easier for our mum and dad and help with the financial burden due to mum not being able to work and having no income during this difficult time.
All money raised will go towards covering not only household bills, mortgage repayments, and food but also the cost of on going and out of pocket expenses like genetic testing, scans, medications, hospital bills, parking, petrol, hair pieces ect.
All remaining donations will be donated back into a charity or Go Fund Me of mums’ choice.
We would greatly appreciate any donations big or small or even just some kind words if a donation is out of your reach.
