Help Jimmie afford legal fees and medical care
Hello, I'm creating this fundraiser on behalf of Jimmie Lee Joshua and his fiancee Allie. Jimmie is currently incarcerated in the Dane County Jail in Madison, WI, and he was injured by sheriff's deputies back in December 2020 (news story here: https://madison365.com/a-mans-hip-was-broken-in-altercation-with-jail-deputies-they-waited-15-hours-to-take-him-to-hospital/) . They broke his hip and shattered his pelvis, while he was sick with covid-19, then left him naked and alone for 16 hours before he was finally taken to the hospital. Ever since then, he has been denied access to physical therapy and other medical care, not to mention being traumatized by the circumstances of his injury. He has been suffering with severe mental health issues and has very limited mobility as a result of the injuries, as well. The medical staff at the jail are taking money from his account for "medical expenses" but they aren't providing him with any care. On top of this unfair expense, he is also in need of funds for communication with his family, friends, and his lawyer, who is representing him in a lawsuit against the officers who assaulted him.
Jimmie is a kind, caring person who loves his fiancee and his community, and he needs the community to show up for him now. Please give what you can and share this fundraiser, any amount is helpful!
