Help Jim McGee Recover from Ruptured Aneurysm

Donation protected
HI ALL,
As some of you know, my Dad suffered, and thankfully, survived a ruptured brain aneurysm Thurs. 8/15. He is currently being taken care of and closely monitored at an ICU in the Lehigh Valley after having successful brain surgery, and is now on a very difficult, indeterminately long path to recovery. He will remain in the ICU for a total of 14 - 21 days (Sun. 8/25 is Day 11) under close supervision, and then he will be transferred to a rehabilitation facility for an unknown period of time.  Being that he is a self-employed audio engineer, musician, studio owner, and freelancer that has had an impact on the Lehigh Valley music scene and beyond, this puts his life outside the hospital at risk while he recovers.

We are hoping that by fundraising, he will be able to leave the ICU and any post-trauma care facility to return home to his beautifully successful studio to get back to work, like I know he eventually will.  It would also make his potential weeks or months of further hospitalization and rehabilitation much less strenuous knowing that our family, friends, and anybody else, are there to support him through this life-changing journey.

It's indescribable how much my family would appreciate any sort of help, and I know my Dad would appreciate it even more. Whether it's $2.00 or a simple share we want him to be able to return to his home, his studio, and his pets, and have a place of solace where he can continue to heal and do what he loves most - music.

Thank you for your support and your love.      Sincerely yours, Dan McGee

FUNDRAISER FOR LIVING EXPENSES FOR JIM MCGEE

Last Thursday, August 15th, Jim McGee suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm while in his recording studio. He was transported to the ICU at St. Luke’s Hospital, Bethlehem via St. Luke's Quakertown where the initial  CT scan revealed the aneurysm. The amazing neurology team performed brain surgery on Friday morning, and he now remains in the ICU for up to 21 days. Upon his release from the ICU, he will continue hospitalization for an undetermined number of days followed by rehabilitation.

Jim's recovery will be long and arduous, but he is strong willed and we have confidence that he will prevail. He understands that his job now is to be strong and persevere.  The love and support of his two sons, his devoted sister, and loving friends will see him through these difficult days in the hospital and the difficult days thereafter.

Jim has been an esteemed member of the Lehigh Valley music community for many years, playing in bands (most particularly his own project, New Kind of Talk), composing, recording, mixing and mastering. He is also a highly respected corporate freelance engineer, and his new studio (SpectraSound Recording in Quakertown) is the pinnacle of his professional career...a dream come true!  But now, Jim needs to focus solely on his recovery so that he can return to the helm behind the soundboard, pick up his bass, attend his sons' concerts and support their accomplishments, and return to his full life.

As a self-employed audio engineer/musician/freelancer/studio owner, Jim is facing hardship due to the complete loss of income for the foreseeable future.  If he can't pay his bills, he will lose everything. He has a mortgage, studio loan, and utility bills that have to be paid immediately. Hopefully, this fundraiser and other music fundraisers will raise enough to get him through the next 4 - 6 months. There is no way of knowing how long it will be before he can return to work.

Monies collected through this fundraising effort will be used to support Jim as he rehabilitates and recovers. Please consider donating to a man whose artistic skill and talent have contributed to the music community of the Lehigh Valley and beyond for so many years. Thank you so very much for your generous support.  Any heartfelt contribution is important and appreciated.
