Help Jewley Paw with Funeral Services for her Family

Déductible des impôts
Im Drucie Bathin and volunteer, working with refugee families from Burma to help them get settled and navigate life in a new country. They left Burma, fleeing the horrible violence and genocide being waged against the ethnic peoples by the Myanmar government. The story of Jewley Paw is the most tragic and desperate I have heard.

I have helped many Karen families cope with the loss of their loved ones. I am the most heartbroken over this family as they shared a bond so close to one another. The burden is so heavy on Jewley Paw and Grace Say. On top of everything, they borrowed money to pay for not one, but three funerals in only 5 years. Anything you would be able to provide would be a great help and relief for Jewley and her daughter to help pay for the funeral services for Eh Kaw as well as to help them pay off their previous funeral services.

Help Jewley Paw with Funeral Services for her Family
Twelve years ago, a refugee family of five came to the United States of America from Burma to seek escape the horrific violence being done to ethnic people by the Myanmar government. Eh Kaw Taw, Jewley Paw, and their three children Eh Sha Say, Grace Say, and John Htoo were welcomed to Colorado by a refugee resettlement agency and the Karen community. The couple began working while the children enrolled in school . Everything seemed to fall in place as they adjusted to their new lives.

The first call of death
Then, one afternoon on July 20th, 2020, as Jewley Paw was working, she got a call from her husband, Eh Kaw, saying that her youngest son, John Htoo who was only 13 years old), was taken to the hospital. John had been playing with his friends when suddenly, he fell to the ground and was unresponsive. When Jewely arrived at the hospital, as she was devastated to learned that John had already passed away when the paramedics had arrived at the scene.

Life went on as Eh Kaw and Jewley Paw mourned the death of their youngest child and did as best as they could to return to their normal lives. The children went to school and the couple went back to work.

The second Call of Death
Then, July 6th, 2024, while Jewley was at home, her brother in-law called, telling her that her oldest son, Eh Sha Say, 24 years old and in good health, had suddenly collapsed and was unresponsive. She again went straight to the hospital only to find out her oldest son had passed away. How would the family ever be able to recover from this trauma?

The third Call of Death - The loss of their husband and father
Then, less than one year later in April 2025, Jewley got a call from her one remaining child saying their father had an unusually small appetite and was suffering from sudden chest pains. He had gone to lay down for a moment and then suddenly collapsed. Jewley rushed to the hospital to see her husband to find out he was in the ICU. He was breathing with the help of a life support machine and had been declared brain dead. After six days Jewley decided to end it.

Deep in mourning and debt incurred to pay for 3 funerals, Jewley said, “I am very shaken as I’ve lost most of my family. Now it’s just the two of us. I don’t know how to feel right now, it’s all so overwhelming. I don’t hear people when they speak to me. I feel lost. I try to be strong for us, but it is ridiculously hard. I worry for my daughter the most.”
