Help Jess recover from her accident and surgery

For all of you who know Jess, it is with a heavy heart that we share the news that she had a life altering accident yesterday. She took a fall and shattered her kneecap into 3 pieces.
She underwent her inicial surgery last night at 9pm, and it turns out the damage was worse than the original xrays showed, She currently has a 10cm incision in her knee, 2 screws, and a lot of wire holding everything into place. An orthopedic surgeon will now be brought in to advise on what her immobility options are.
Her current outlook doesn't look great. The initial estimate is that she will be completely immobile for 3 weeks, and will not be able to walk again for at least 3 months. She will need daily physical therapy to be able to recover.
She has also been diagnosed with pre-osteoporosis, and there is a good chance that her career as a professional scuba diver and instructor is now over.
We are asking for donations to cover her immediate medical expenses of $3000, and additional funds will be used to cover her physical therapy, ongoing medical expenses, and living expenses.
She will be unable to work for several months at minimum, and as she currently lives on the 3rd floor of an apartment building, will need help in finding a new living situation.
For all of you that know her, you know she has a huge heart and often does all she can to help those in need.
