Help Jerry Cover Cancer Treatment Expenses

Donation protected
On September 15, 2020, Jerry was diagnosed with Stage 3 Liposarcoma, a rare cancer that develops within the body's fatty tissue and can spread rather quickly if left untreated. This news came as a shock to our family nearly a month after he celebrated his 59th birthday.

As of now, we have been informed the treatment could be a long and hard fought process, as he travels two hours to and from the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville where he will receive possible chemotherapy, radiation, and undergo surgery to remove the mass. We are hopeful there is only one mass within his inner thigh, but we will know more within the next week if the cancer has remained local or has spread throughout his body. Updates will be sent as his diagnosis unfolds.

The added layer to this story is Jerry has been given two-weeks notice that his current job title will dissolve due to the lack of work from the COVID-19 pandemic. Jerry has worked in management at Trade Show Supply in Orlando, Florida for the past nine years and was hoping he would find retirement soon for he and his wife, Vanessa, of 39-years, where they would relocate to their home roots of Dayton, Ohio to be closer to their children and grandsons.

As anyone can imagine, the increasing medical expenses should be the last thing he worries about as he fights (AND BEATS!) Liposarcoma. Your generous donations would go towards his care, travel expenses that will occur, and to help in alleviating the financial burdens of both my parents, as my dad is without work and my mom takes time off work to support & care for him.

I have started this fundraiser for my dad, who if you know him, you love him. He's the goofy guy who has the best stories, has never met a stranger, and can tell you anything about sports, cars, and Seinfeld. Particularly, he loves his Cincinnati sports teams. He has been a strong role model to dozens of young men he’s coached throughout the years. He has selflessly given to his family and friends his whole life and it's time we step-up, cheer him on, and support him in any way we can. If you are unable to provide financial assistance, my dad is requesting prayers of healing to be sent his way. He will need a team of support to help keep his mind, body and spirit healthy through this.

Our family sends the most heartfelt gratitude as we navigate this new journey together.
