Help Jen Conquer Breast Cancer!

Today, we are reaching out on behalf of one of our best friends, Jen or as some of us love to call her Jaj or Ms Beer. She's a mother of 2, daughter, sister, aunty and to so many people, a down to earth, honest, loyal, generous good friend. Recently, Jen was diagnosed with stage 1 breast cancer, a reality that has come as a heartbreaking shock to all of us who know and love her.

Jen has touched many lives, she has provided friendship and opportunities through her dedicated service as a valued member of the community over the many years. She has served as a teacher, cadet leader, SES volunteer, coach of many sports, and swimming instructor. She has always been there to lend a helping hand or share an encouraging word, have a laugh and share a story and has profoundly impacted her community, friends, school and beyond.

In the coming weeks, Jen will face significant medical challenges, including a mastectomy followed by reconstructive surgery using her own tissue. These procedures are crucial for her health and recovery but come with substantial medical expenses, some of which are barely covered by insurance.

We are creating this GoFundMe to rally support for Jen during this incredibly tough time. The funds we raise will help cover her medical bills, including the costs of surgery, hospital stays, and post-operative care. This support will also help ease the burden of recovery-related expenses, allowing Jen to focus solely on her health without the added stress of financial strain.

To go through this ordeal is one thing, to be away from her home and family in Tom Price is another, and to suddenly be struck with the financial pressure is another stressful burden to navigate. It is all happening so quickly so the cancer can be removed. The procedure will take place in just a matter of weeks, in the month of June.

Jen has always been the first to offer help to others in their time of need, and now it's our turn to give back to her. Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a significant difference in her life. Additionally, sharing this campaign will help us reach others who might want to support Jen.
