Help Jasper Get Hip Surgery

Jasper has been in our lives since he was a little puppy, and he's the sweetest, spunkiest boy.

Until the past 6 months, Jasper has had 8 happy and healthy years. He now has trouble getting around, is unable to jump in and out of the car and on the couch, and has been slipping when attempting to climb stairs.

After a few appointments with his vet, we determined Jasper has arthritis and hip dysplasia, a condition that pet insurance won't cover. All the cartilage between his femur and acetabulum have eroded, causing bone-on-bone interactions with movement. As a result, the muscles around his hip are starting to atrophy, and we need to get him care immediately. 

In order to restore mobility, prevent further damage, and ease his pain he needs to have a femoral head ostectomy (FHO). This procedure will remove the ball portion of his ball and socket joint, allowing scar tissue to form and be utilized as a false joint. 

He is scheduled to have the surgery in April, and as of right now we are unsure how we'll pay for it. We can't bear to have him suffer, though.
