Heartbreaking Tragic Loss
We are asking for help on behalf of Jarrod Baird who is battling for his own recovery while also dealing with the loss of his only child and her mother.
On Monday Feb 1st 2021, at approx. 2:30am a fire started in their home, Jarrod and Mandy were able to get out while suffering extensive injuries trying to save their child, 18 month old Melody who unfortunately did not survive. Jarrod and Mandy were rushed to the hospital with severe injuries and transferred to Miami’s trauma burn unit and tragically Mandy succumb to her injuries on Tuesday morning. Jarrod was placed in a medically induced coma and on Tuesday had the first of several surgeries. He had received cadaver skin grafts to address some of his burns. He has lung damage from smoke inhalation and has been intubated. He will have to go through more surgeries and has a very long road of recovery.
While his is fighting his own recovery, he will have to struggle with mental pain of losing his only child who he absolutely adored and was his whole world. He is a great father and worked very hard to provide for Melody. At the time of this posting he is not aware that she did not make it as he has been in a coma. The pain he will feel should never be felt by a parent.
With help of his family and friends he will preserve, and we will all support him through his long road of recovery. Jarrod has always been willing to help his friends and family and now he will need all of our help. Not only with the mental struggles he will have to face, but the financial needs of his medical expenses and recovery. While we do not know the total cost, we know it will be extensive and unfortunately, he does not have insurance. We want him to have the best chance for his physical recovery as well as mental recovery and ask for your help, no matter the amount, every little bit helps. We ask for you donate as little or as much as you can. These donations are all going to help Jarrod’s recovery from this tragic and unfortunate accident, medical expenses, funeral arrangement and his families ability to be with him.
