I met SGT Josh Brennan's mom, Janice at an Open house that she held to honor her son, who made the ultimate sacrifice in Afghanistan in 2007. SGT Brennan earned both a Purple Heart and Bronze Star while in service to his country.
I'm a Patriot Guard Rider and a mom. I felt a closeness to her, as I was the Ride Captain and part of the Guard that stood that day to honor her fallen son. Before we left, I let her know if there is anything she ever needs, I would be there for her.
Janice, has a final request as she will be reunited with her son soon due to terminal Liver cancer.
She wants to join the Patriot Guard Riders, pass her DMV test, get a trike and ride with me on missions of comfort and honor to other Military families who have also suffered the loss of a loved one.
We have located a trike but need to raise $10,000 to purchase the trike, pay for her motorcycle endorsement and registration as well as customized art work to honor her son.
