Help Jan battle cancer

Donation protected
"As life happens, all things come forward, whether in good or bad. Our outlook during these times determine our outcomes. "

This is so very true for my sister Jan. On a quiet day here at Taos Pueblo, my sister came to my house asking if she could visit with me. It was then that she told me she was just diagnosed with a form of stomach cancer. As would have it, we shared tears, as would the rest of the family. Beyond that what began to emerge was the  noticeable, strength and fearlessness Jan was already beginning to show. "I am going to beat this", she stated.

It has been several months now, numerous doctors visits and diagnosis readings. To date, my sister Jan has been unwavering with her struggle to face and beat a sometimes formidable foe. Because or her strength and courage, Jan has been reluctant to ask for help beyond emotional support from family and friends.  So it comes this day that, as a family we are reaching out to our dear family and friends and the kindness of those we may not know, to help ease some financial burdens which are beginning to take a toll on Jan. Our family has been doing its part and preparing a series of family fundraisers, such as bake sales to try and make a difference. Yet, we know that, as chemo and radiation treatments continue, Jan will need to find comfort knowing she can focus on her health rather than the worries of how she will sustain herself.

To help ease Jan's burden of financial worry, we are humbly asking for any donation which you may be able to provide. We are also asking that you share this request with any friends and family you may have, who may be able to help. Through your support, be it prayer, monitory or lending a hand. Jan will be able to move towards surgery, knowing she is fully prepared.

In closing, as we get details on treatment plan and surgery at MD Anderson in Houston, scheduled for the months of late September or October. We will keep you updated on this site and through other locations.

Sincerely,

The Lujan Family
