Help James with bone graft surgery

Donation protected
What we thought was a sinus infection or a mild toothache turned out to be the return of a serious maxillary infection. James is having unexpected jaw surgery tomorrow, Friday 8/10/18. Y'all know we need to keep this man smiling!

He will be receiving a bone graft on the front of his upper jaw. The procedure has a 95% success rate as far as stopping recurring infections, so we're happy about that. He's had two root canals that failed to stop it in the past. However, this also costs $2,400 we don't have, and because it is classified as a dental procedure rather that regular surgery, it's not covered by his health insurance.

To top it off, James just switched back from salary to hourly last week — great for reduced work stress, but bad when he needs time off. This has cost him a few days of work so far, and we're not sure how many more he may need to recover. We could mostly cover the surgical costs if I dropped out of school but because I'm classified as a student worker I'd lose both my jobs as a result.

If you're in a position to help, we'd really appreciate it!

Also, I have to be out of town 8/15 - 8/23 for another research tour in Eastern Oregon, so if you live in Portland and want to make some kind of really soft food next week, I'm sure he'd appreciate not having to cook for himself for a bit.
