In July 2017 i received the the most devastating news that anyone could imagine i was told that i had a rare form of cancer called osteosarcoma in my right knee after believing for months and numerous amounts of hospital visits that it was just fluid on the knee.
A week later i started a intense cycle of chemotherapy which had 13 cycles of treatment which was tough and kicked me to the floor each and every time with every side effect of treatment affecting me I had 4 cycles of treatment before having a major surgery which involved removing the bone in my right leg and replacing it with metal this then meant i had to learn to walk again which was very challenging i then started chemo once again 2 weeks later i was given the all clear in February 2018
after getting my life back on track and finally back to doing the things i enjoyed, my life came crashing down again in February 2019 a regular check up scan showed that there was a shadow on my lung so this meant we immediately
started chemo again.
Unfortunately after 4 different treatments i was told my cancer was still progressing and that there was nothing they could do for me anymore due to there being no further treatment in the UK i was given the news that every person would dread to hear i was told i had "3months" to live and that there was no other treatments available.
after months of searching and many discussions we have been able to locate a clinic in Germany with a promising treatment called immunotherapy this is our final hope of having a better life and battling this disease.
This as been a a very tough and challenging 3 years physically and mentally but my mind set still remains positive and i will not let this defeat me.
I appreciate that not everyone is in a position to donate and particularly challenging at these times but every little helps including sharing my story
