Hello my name is Jade and I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) at the age of 24 in June of 2021. ALL is a blood cancer in the bone marrow that affects white blood cells. Over the course of 6 months I had gone through numerous rounds of Chemotherapy, blood and platelet transfusions, Lumbar Punctures, Bone Marrow biopsies, and a Stem Cell (Bone Marrow) Transplant. Receiving this diagnosis at a young age changed my life forever. This past year has been a lot mentally, physically, emotionally, and financially.
During my time in the hospital my medical bills began to pile up. These bills include: Radiology scans, Pathology tests, Hospital Admissions, ER visits, labs, as well as Ambulance transportation from hospital to hospital. Due to several hospital admissions and frequent doctors appointments for labs, scans, infusions, and biopsies, I have been unable to return to work. As a result, I am unable to afford these medical bills. Although I was insured, the insurance company refuses to cover the remaining expenses leaving it as my responsibility. I have also been struggling to take care of normal day to day expenses. This has been an extremely stressful time sorting through medical debt while also trying to focus on my health and support myself financially.

UPDATE: August 2022
After 7 long months of appealing my insurance company, calling debt collectors, and contacting the hospital for financial assistance I have not received any help in getting this debt cleared. The money I have received from GoFundMe has covered my smaller bills however, I still have over $180K of medical debt. If you could please donate that would be appreciated!
