Help Ivorie Beat Cancer

Donation protected

They say your life can change in a blink of an eye. This is exactly what happened this past week for the Robinson family. My dear cousins, Will and Kristen Robinson, parents of three, were told the worst possible news that any parent could hear; their beautiful 5 year old daughter, Ivorie, and baby of the family, has Wilms’ tumor (also known as nephroblastoma). It is a type of childhood cancer that starts in the kidneys.

Early this summer, my cousins realized something was wrong with Ivorie when she started passing blood and blood clots in her urine. They also began to realize she had symptoms that they didn’t originally know were symptoms. A change in appetite, being a little more lethargic then normal, being moody, and a rise in her blood pressure. After several ER visits, ultrasounds, meetings with different specialists and urologists, CT scans, visits to children’s hospitals, their biggest nightmare was confirmed early this week. Based on the characteristics of the latest CT scan, the Wilms’ tumor has already metastasized and spread to her right lung lobe. The tumor in her left kidney is as big or bigger than her actual kidney and is pushing on all of her surrounding organs. My cousins took Ivorie to Valley Children’s Hospital in Medera, CA yesterday to meet the phenomenal oncology team and to find out what the best course of treatment would be to beat this cancer! The oncologists discovered that Ivorie is between stage 2 and 3 and apparently the tumor is too large and encasing a major artery. Incidentally, making it too dangerous to remove the tumor before trying to shrink it. This Friday, her port goes in and little Ivorie will undergo her first 6 weeks of chemotherapy.

There's nothing that anyone can say or do to ease their pain and fear but at least we can help take away some of the financial burden they will undeniably be faced with. Ivorie’s mother, Kristen Robinson, coincidently already beat cancer herself as she faced cervical cancer last October. Consequently, due to her cancer, Kristen used up all of her work leave and 4 months ago and was forced to return back to work. She has just been informed that her job denied paid FMLA for her daughter and Kristen will most likely be forced to leave her job. If you are able to donate, share, and/or pray, it is greatly appreciated! This is the only approved GoFundMe account for Ivorie. We will update you as we receive information throughout her treatment.

God bless sweet Ivorie and her family and all the wonderful people who have and will support the Robinsons on their unfathomable journey to recovery and goodwill.

My dearest, sweet Ivorie: we are here for you and we love you! God bless you, sweetheart!

Love,
Cousin Jes
