Help fund Ivaylo's funeral and medical expenses.

Ivaylo lost his battle with liposarcoma on the morning of January 10th, 2023 at the age of 43. I'm updating the fundraiser for anyone who wishes to help with his medical and funeral expenses, and I am here for those that would like to reach out. Thank you.

I am putting together this campaign to help my brother Ivaylo Kovatchev with his medical expenses. He was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer - myxoid liposarcoma - in 2016 and he has been fighting it since. He has endured surgeries, chemo and radiation therapy, while continuing to be a good father to his two children and a solid partner to his wife. He is determined to win this fight and is working hard to do it every day.

After 15 surgeries, 4 rounds of chemo and 6 rounds of radiation therapy Ivaylo’s treatment team has helped enroll him in an experimental study that has a great chance of finding an appropriate treatment for this rare cancer. However, before getting to the study Ivaylo still needs leg surgery to remove a large tumor and thoracic surgery afterwards. Thus far insurance has covered a large portion of his treatment but this is no longer an option. This is why I am asking anyone that can give to consider donating to Ivaylo and his family.

At this point, the cost of the upcoming procedures are set at appr. $20,000 for the leg surgery, and $30,000 for the thoracic surgery, so this is what we are hoping to raise with this campaign.
