Hunter’s heartbreaking story began Wednesday, January 27, 2021 when he went to the hospital.
He was taken to the hospital due to potential kidney stone. Early in the week he was diagnosed with COVID-19 which did not help the situation. The kidney stone determined to be too large to pass, so a procedure to insert a stent was scheduled for Thursday, January 29. Due to his high fever the procedure had to be moved from Thursday to Friday. The procedure itself was
successful, however it soon took a turn for the worse. While in surgery the very breathing tube that was used to support Hunter’s, life accompanied by Covid-19 became his worst enemy.
Hunter’s throat began to swell around the tube and cut off his lifeline to breathe. His oxygen levels dropped to life-threatening numbers; thus, requiring him to be taken to ICU placed on a ventilator at 100% and medically induced coma fighting for his life. On January 31, the family
received the heartbreaking news that Hunter's blood pressure plummeted, resulting in an emergency need for both a central line and arterial line to administer life-saving medication, being placed on muscle paralysis medication, and being put in a medically induced coma. Hunter
has made some progress each day, but it is an extremely slow process. The days and months ahead will be extremely hard for Hunter and his family. We have been told that his lungs and throat have scarring from the Covid-19 virus, and he will have a long road to recovery, but yes, Hunter remaining with us is a miracle!
Because life and the responsibility of bills have continued while he has been in the hospital, and not to mention the enormous treatment bills alongside a lack of income to come, Hunter's family and friends have asked for your continued prayers and monetary support. son that is inseparable from his Dad. Hunter is known for his thick red beard (that they had to shave), his big bear hugs, his commitment to his family, friends, and work family.
