Help Horse Rescue Survive Climate Change

Becoming Self-Sustaining

Our farm has to become a self-sustaining horse farm throughout climate change. The impacts of climate change are already hitting the farm's bottom-line with severe hay and feed cost premiums. We have determined that we will not be a farm that disappears as a result of climate change. Instead, we will become sustainable!

We thought we had ten years to make the changes we need, but it is now clear that we don't. With your help, we can condense the transformation schedule to 2 years and reduce our dependence on outside food sources.

Costs to remove invasive species, soil test, create the proper microbiome for the soils to sustain, even in long-term drought, and plant/establish native species that horses will eat, should be in the $30,000 range. Property clearing alone will cost $12,000.

Being a low-profit/no-profit business means these funds are going to be difficult to come by. We need your help!
