Help Holly afford potentially life-saving surgery

Hi, I'm Holly and I am raising funds for a surgery I need in the spring of 2023. Let me give you some background:

In the fall of 2022, I went to a routine doctor visit, during which I had to keep clearing my throat and coughing (unrelated to my doc visit). When the doctor asked about it, I said I'd had it for years. She immediately referred me for an upper GI endoscopy because she was suspicious the cough was acid reflux or GERD. I had no idea that's what it could be. During the endoscopy, they discovered a hiatal hernia and spots in my esophagus that required a biopsy. When pathology came back, I was informed that I have Barrett's Esophagus.

Barrett's Esophagus is a pre-cancerous condition caused by untreated and prolonged acid reflux. The prolonged and constant damage results in changes within the cells of the esophagus which make them prone to developing cancer.

My body is not responding to proton pump inhibitors, and keeping me on them long-term can cause a host of other serious medical complications. So now I need a Nissen Fundoplication surgery to repair my esophagus and prevent further damage, and also likely prevent the Barrett's Esophagus from progressing into cancer. I have my sweet little boy and husband to be here for, so I want to do whatever I can to help prevent the progression of this disease and live a long healthy life.

The surgery requires a 2 night hospital stay and 3 weeks of recovery. I'm hoping to raise enough funds to cover the costs of the surgery, hospital stay, medication, and to help support my household while I am out of work.

This is not an easy thing for me to ask for, but for the life of me, I cannot afford more medical bills. I don't have anything to offer in return besides my undying gratitude and appreciation. Thank you all so much.
