Help Hoggs Hollow Stay Open

• As many of you know, Hoggs Hollow has been a part of the La Canada and surrounding Los Angeles communities for the last 45 years, 35 of those in La Canada. In that time, we have been honored to teach and love so many of our community’s children—and their children!
• Like many preschools, Covid-19 has brought unprecedented hurdles. Despite some initial support from the government, many of us have watched as those loans have quickly gone to pay back rent, current expenditures, teacher’s salaries, and advertising. Though we have been allowed to open, our admissions have plummeted as parents have had to make hard decisions to protect their family members at home. When we initially closed in March, we had 46 students. We now have 4.
• Sadly, without further support, Hoggs Hollow will be forced to close its doors. We don’t want to see that happen. We have worked hard over the last six months to provide virtual learning to our students and we have continued to pay and support our teachers, but our landlord is no longer providing any leniency. If we are not able to make our monthly payment, we will lose the space we have called home for 35 years.
• To that end, we are requesting funds for the following:
$64,000 in back rent due to pandemic closure
$48,000 for spring rent
All funds will be used to pay for use of our space (2 classrooms & an Art Room), which if we are not able to pay, we will be evicted.
• We recognize that schools admissions will likely be stalled until summer and we hope that we can raise enough to survive the next six months before we are able to welcome back our students with open arms – and many more adventures in store.
• We thank you for supporting us all these years, for welcoming our children into your community, and for being there for us now.
• Please help pay it forward and more children will benefit from our outdoorsy program.
