Help Henry Kick Cancer & Blast Neuroblastoma Away

Meet Henry!

Henry is the kindest, coolest, and most adorable seven-year-old you'll ever meet. After a fall at school on the 12th of December, Henry had a painful lump in his belly. His mum Steph, obviously very concerned, took him straight to the Emergency Department. After being reviewed by the pediatric team in Geelong, Henry was referred to The Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne. Several tests were performed, including scans and biopsies. Then, just before Christmas, Henry's parents received devastating news. Little Henry has a very rare and aggressive form of cancer called Neuroblastoma. The tumor was not only in his abdomen but also wrapped around his renal aorta. It was clear that little Henry's treatment needed to start as soon as possible.

Neuroblastoma is extremely rare. Only approximately 800 children are diagnosed each year. This cancer causes lumps to develop in nerve tissues in the abdomen, pelvis, adrenal glands, neck, and chest.

Henry and his family have a battle on their hands. The journey will be long and extremely challenging for all of them. Initially, Henry will have several rounds of intensive chemotherapy to help shrink the tumor before surgeons can remove it. He will then require radiation and additional oral chemotherapy. His treatment will mean he will miss a lot of time at school, with his parents needing a lot of time off work to care for him.

If you have been lucky enough to meet Henry, you'd know that he leaves quite an impression! He is the quirkiest and friendliest little 7-year-old, always full of energy and a spunk! Henry loves dinosaurs (like he really loves them!) and wants to be a paleontologist when he grows up.

Henry hit the jackpot when it comes to families. His mum Steph is a social worker supporting our community's most vulnerable young people. His dad George, after serving Australia in the Army for many years, is a wellbeing advocate for returned veterans and service people. Sister Sophie is a fun-loving, 10-year-old fashionista, obsessed with Harry Potter and absolutely adores her little brother.

Many have asked how they can help the Ziotas family. From home-cooked meals to thoughtful messages, Steph and George are incredibly appreciative of the support from their community.

This go fund me aims to try and relieve Steph and George of the financial pressures associated with Henry's treatment, including hospital bills, specialist appointments, traveling costs, and the flexibility to take time off work to be at Henry's bedside.

Your donation will help relieve the financial pressure and allow Steph and George to focus on what matters most - time with their children to continue creating a loving, supportive and positive environment for Henry and Sophie during this unimaginable time.

We thank you for supporting a little legend and a fabulous family.
