Help Heidi get on her feet

My sister, Heidi, has lived in poverty with her family for 20 years. 2020 and 2021 were plagued with more than just a pandemic for her. She had to compete with moving multiple times, living in a house without a working shower, a looming home foreclosure, being a single parent (for the most part), aiding with family members' depression and anxiety, severe marital problems, and many other issues. At the end of 2021, Heidi had finally had enough and decided she was the only person that could change the trajectory of her and her kids' lives.

 

Heidi has accomplished more in the last 2 months than she had in the previous 20 years. She has filed for divorce, moved to Michigan, got herself a reliable vehicle, secured housing and employment along with working with her children so they can have a brighter future.

 

Over the years, there have been many requests for financial assistance. I was always leery about those requests because there never seemed to be an effort to change the situation. A significant shift happened at the end of last year, and I genuinely believe that Heidi has turned a corner and is on a path to change her life and, more importantly, the life of her 3 children.

 

Heidi has put herself in an excellent position to be successful moving forward; however, her mounting legal debt is creating a strain that she isn't yet in a position to manage. The money raised will help Heidi with legal fees as well as the cost to travel back and forth from Michigan for divorce hearings.
