Help & Healing for the Dohrmanns

Donation protected
This is a photo of a family, shattered by the tragic loss of their infant son. One week ago Saturday, a beautiful, healthy, 10 pound 5 ounce, baby boy was born to Becky and Brent Dohrmann, and just as quickly, he earned his wings and was given back to God to become our angel. His name, Everett Earl Dohrmann, and he was absolutely perfect.

We gathered as a family the night Everett was born, November 18th, 2017 and held his lifeless little body in our arms. As he was baptized, there was not a dry eye in the room, the nurses, doctors, Chaplin and more, could not contain the sadness for a life lost far too soon.

The pain and sadness this family has endured is unbearable and unimaginable. How are you supposed to say goodbye to someone you never got to meet?

Unfortunately that pain and sadness would not end there, Becky was readmitted to the hospital less than 30 hours after she was released, due to more complications from delivery. She will have multiple surgeries over the next several months to try to repair the damage done to her. Returning weekly to the place where all the suffering and sadness started. A constant reminder that they are going though all of this with no new baby at home to love or care for.

For the past week, instead of buying diapers and newborn outfits, they had to pick out funeral clothes, cemetery plots and an impossibly small casket. Then Sunday, again surrounded by family, they laid Everett's tiny body to rest.

Becky, Brent and their two year old Lydia, have a long, long road to recovery. Once the physical pain heals, the mental and emotional pain will still be there, it will never go away. They will have a lifetime of what if and what could have been, to go though, every single day.

You would think the hardest part is behind them, saying their final goodbyes and giving their sweet baby boy back to God. Unfortunately they are being hit with mounting medical bills from the delivery and the multiple surgeries Becky will still need to undergo, plus the funeral costs, so many painful reminders.

I would love to somehow take away their pain, to remove the sadness from their souls, but only time and faith will eventually start to help them heal. Since we are unable to take away the pain, maybe we can gather together as a community and help with some of the financial burden they are about to be faced with. No one should ever have to pay to bury their own baby.

If you would like to contribute to this loving family, in their time of need, please donate here. We will never be able to fully understand the pain they feel, but with every penny, we just might be able to lighten their load a little bit and be a true blessing for them. Thank you to all who have and continue to support Becky, Brent and Lydia, throughout these challenging days. Your love and goodwill, will be forever cherished.

Other places to consider donating to, that are very helpful for families grieving the loss of their angels:
Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep, they do photography for families after the loss of their babies.  Also, Molly Bears, provide bears to families with the actual weight of their baby. Both have been extremely helpful and meaningful to the Dohrmann family. The above photos are credit to, Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep Photography.  The link to both websites can be found below.

We would all be so grateful for any donation and helping us spread the word by sharing our page.
