Esther's Story...
Many of you know that our daughter, Esther, has lived for years with an undiagnosed medical condition that affects various parts of her body (our doctor suspects it is a form of Lyme's Disease).
She has a multitude of symptoms, but her two main ones are debilitating joint pain throughout her whole right side and a headache that started six years ago and has never stopped. A lot of people who know her are surprised to hear this because she is one tough girl and doesn't complain to them. Esther just pushes through.
So much pain...
Over the years we have spent much of our energy and finances trying to find an answer and to get our girl healed. We have visited many wonderful doctors, chiropractors, specialists, and naturopaths but as of yet, nothing has helped. Two years ago, Esther started taking pain medications around the clock just to do normal activities, like sitting in a school desk or sleeping.
About Esther...
If you know Esther, you know she's full of life, kindness, and just the right amount of fire. She is a crazy-good artist. She plays piano and violin with such emotion it puts tears in my eyes AND it also typically puts her in a wrist brace and she has to stop playing for a week or so to give her joints time to heal. She loves children and babysitting for all of her families. I think she has more fun than the kids with the art projects she has them doing -even constructing a whole doll house out of the parents' recycling for one of her little girls!
It is very hard to watch our daughter, who has always been a leader and a whirlwind of creativity, withdrawing from life because it's too much for her.
Hope...
This is the time in her life where, as parents, we want to see her excited about her future instead of only focused on managing her pain. We don't talk about college and careers right now. We talk about getting healed AND we finally think we have hope!
Just when it seemed there was nowhere else to turn we discovered a place called the Hansa Clinic in Witchita, Kansas. People fly from all over the world to go there and it's only THREE hours from us! They help people like Esther that have tried everything and their success rate is very high- approximately 85%! Recently, a girl from our area with Lyme's Disease went there having daily seizures and in a wheelchair and left walking and seizure free!
This is very exciting and we now have hope for Esther's healing!
How you can help...
The cost to send Esther to the Hansa Clinic is going to be $18,000. and our insurance won't cover any of it. We are asking God (and you) for a miracle to help us raise this money. Even if you can't give financially, will you pray with us for Esther? Also, please share/post this as often as you can- that helps a lot!!
