Dear amazing cat community and friends,
As many of you know, my little panther Chewy has been sick for several months. He's usually an incredible ball of energy with a spunky and fun personality, but lately all that has changed. He's become a lot less playful (but will humour me from time to time) and has over groomed himself to the point of bleeding and creating wounds on his body.
We've tried so hard to figure out what he has. We've seen several different vets and vet specialist over the last few months. Despite ruling out mites, lice, fleas, and parasites, giving him new medication, and changing his food and other environmental factors, he is still not better.
Chewy’s condition has worsened recently. He has developed trouble breathing and wheezes frequently. The vets ruled out some serious issues (like heart problems or water on his lungs), but are still quite concerned and want to run additional tests on him. They would like him to see a behaviour specialist and an internal medicine specialist, as well to test him for allergies.
Pepperoni and I want Chewy to have the best care possible, but his medical bills over the past month have already cost a small fortune for me as a student (and Pepperoni is still waiting for a gig as a cat model, so she can’t help out until then). Chewy’s friends and amazing cat community have been a constant source of support and love, so Pepperoni and a few of you suggested we open a GoFundMe account for Chewy. We have included photos of Chewy’s past medical bills as well as a quote for the upcoming vet visits. The vet noted that the behaviour specialist will likely have Chewy pass additional tests that were not included in the quote.
We are so grateful for your help towards Chewy’s upcoming tests and vet visits. You have been amazing to this little panther so far, and every extra little bit is always super appreciated. We love you all!!
