Help Hayward finance his film, A Rush of Peace
Don protégé
Hey, all! We have begun pre-production on A Rush of Peace, a short film I co-wrote with Jake Lockett based on my feature-length screenplay, A Banquet of Consequences. I am putting $25,000 of my own money into this film, but our final budget is around $32,000.
A Rush of Peace is a parable of addiction, with obsessive revenge as the drug in this brutal tale of self-discovery. In short, it's an allegory of my journey of overcoming addiction and alcoholism in twelve pages.
Producer Aiden Weber has joined the team. We've hired hot up-and-coming cinematographer Roy Wongchinda to shoot the movie. Production designer Alex Meridy just signed on. And with this short film, well-known film and television actor Jake Lockett makes his directorial debut. As of this writing, we are in discussions with several prominent editors.
The funds raised will be primarily used for post-production costs, such as editing, sound mixing, special effects, and publicity for festivals. Our team, including myself, has had more than fifteen films in festivals. We are an experienced bunch and eager to tell this story.
To be blunt, I wrote this film as my acting calling card. These days in Hollywood, we have to make our own content to get noticed. I wrote this part, of course, with myself in mind and plan on being terrific in it. I haven't written or directed a film since my days studying at NYU, but two of those films I made there went to underground festivals.
I'm so passionate about this short and its potential. I've spent three years working on the story and six months prepping for the shoot. Any donation in any amount will help! I cannot wait for all of you to see it!
All the best,
