Help Harana resort staff build their homes.

WE ARE ALIVE! We survived super typhoon Odette last Dec 16 2021.
We arrived in Siargao two days prior and stayed at the Harana Surf Resort. Fortunately, the resort owner was on the island and provided everything for the guests. We were evacuated the night before to a home stay which was away from the beachfront since there was an earthquake north of the island that same evening.

On the morning of December 16, we made friends with the other Harana guests when there was only light rain. The wind began to pick up strength at 1200h. That afternoon, we lost both signal and power. The wind was so strong it felt like it was screaming, the wooden doors of each room were slamming like a horror movie with each gush of wind. One by one the coconut trees from our window view toppled over and we saw roofs fly everywhere. We couldn't even hear the roosters anymore.

The morning after the nightmare we got the most beautiful sunrise, with all remaining coconut leaves scattered and messed up because of the wind. We had no words when we witnessed the horrific damage caused by the typhoon in plain daylight. It was so eerie. Many homes were destroyed. A lola fixing all their soaked clothes and hanging it on the remains of their house.

It will be Christmas in a few days and the survivors of Typhoon Odette have no homes, enough food and water until they can fully recover from this disaster.

Please don’t hesitate to message me or Niko Andre Manuel if you would like to help out. So grateful for this life!
