My name is Wayne Hartley Jr. and I am the owner and founder of Happy Hearts Pet Care Services in Atlanta, GA!
A little about me, I am originally from New York and then my family and I moved to Atlanta when I was in high school. I always knew that I had a calling on my life to work with animals and somehow give them a voice. Growing up, I was the father to many pets and my dream was to attend the illustrious Tuskegee University and graduate as a veterinarian, but as I made my way through school and life I learned that I can make an impact in many lives as a technician. Not to mention having more hands on experience and freedom was appealing. This led me to attend THE Fort Valley State University and graduate with a B.S. in Veterinary Technology and later obtaining my license as a technician. Since graduation and even in my matriculation through college I have worked in a couple of different veterinary settings that has taught me so much about the ins and out of pet care. These settings include UGA Veterinary Teaching Hospital, BluePearl Veterinary Partners, Critter Fixers Animal Hospital, and Thrive Affordable Vet Care. My positions ranged from kennel tech all the way to hospital manager. I have worked tirelessly to get to where I am and I love everything about working with animals. There's always something to learn!
So What is Happy Hearts Pet Care?
Happy Hearts Pet Care is a mobile and in-home pet care service that offers pet sitting, grooming, training, and dog walking! We aim to become a one-stop shop for outstanding pet care in Atlanta first and around the world next!
Happy Hearts Pet Care began in 2016 when I was working at UGA. Because I saw that there was a need for in-home help among my pet parents that took their pets (my patients) home after treatment I used all that I have learned over the years to ensure pets were safe and taken care of at home. After seeing how accepted this was and how there was a need for mobile care, I really took entrepreneurship seriously then! Fast forward to 2018, I moved to Atlanta and while working for BluePearl Veterinary Partners, I added on other services besides pet sitting and at-home care. I began using my gifts to groom, train, and create steady income with dog walking.
This is it! This is what I want to do with my life. Spread the joy of pet care while teaching and empowering pet parents to be the best they can be. I love to teach as much as I love to learn and there is always something to learn! My goal for Happy Hearts is to always be a learning environment.
So why am I on GoFundMe?
I believe it to be time for growth! Happy Hearts has been so great to me and the lives I have helped over the years. Pet Care is who I am and I want to build a company that exudes quality pet care each and everyday. Before I get into the future of the company, I'd like to share my immediate goals! A grooming van! Right now Happy Hearts is a home based business. So I drive around atlanta or I have my pet parents drop their pets off at my home. I would love to acquire a van and with your help I can achieve that! I plan on using the money raised to not only fund the down payment for a van from wagntail.com but to also finish getting my app developed! Yes! an app. production has started, but there a few tweaks I need to fix before it is open to the public.
But imagine, an app to schedule services, chat, pay balances, answer all questions, register your pets and your info, and have all the important documents you need in one place. and then I pull up in my Happy Hearts Mobile Grooming Van and groom or transport your pet to wherever they need!!! I can see it now!! People that are interested in pet care will also be able to sign up as sitters, walkers, and groomers too!! please support me as I try to make this company into what my dreams can only describe.
The future of Happy Hearts?!
As Happy Hearts Pet Care grows, I plan to open Happy Hearts Pet Care Center and Resort, a place where pet parents are at ease that their pets are taken care of with the utmost quality. HHPCCR will offer in-house overnight care, doggy daycare, grooming, and training But will also offer mobile services like pet sitting, grooming, training, and dog walking. FIRST OF ITS KIND IN ATL!

#PAWS4ASEC ENT., a podcast, youtube, all around pet care media company teaching pet care around the world
Selfless Hearts Animal Volunteer Program, A nonprofit that takes middle and highschoolers to volunteer and spend time at rescue groups, humane societies, and wildlife conservation facilities! the goal is to teach pet care and emapthy at a young age. but also to give scholarships too!!
Happy Hearts Canine Rescue, a no-kill nonprofit for dogs that are abandoned, mistreated,and in need of homes or a safe haven as they live their days out. approved dogs will get to play and be walked by the kids in Selfless hearts as an afterschool program activity and summer program activity
Cafe Au Pawpy, a canine cafe that you and your dog can come to and eat snacks and mingle with other pet families.
As you can see, starting with the one van is only the beginning. I have so many good things coming and I cant wait to share it with you all!
