Hi and thank you for taking the time to read this. I am creating this gofundme to raise funds for an amazing human Hannah Thomas.
As many of you know, our wonderful friend Hannah has been battling T-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL).
Anyone who knows Hannah knows she is an absolute saint, a best friend to many of us, a wonderful wife to Simon, a daughter, a sister, an aunty and a superhuman who has faced every challenge with a smile.
Over the past 19 months, Hannah has undergone gruelling rounds of chemotherapy, radiotherapy, a full bone marrow transplant and follow-up infusions.
Unfortunately, after all that, her Leukaemia has returned.
One of the only remaining options for Hannah is to travel to Singapore to participate in a new ground-breaking trial.
Because the treatment isn’t available to her here in Australia for T-Cell ALL, and they applied for the government Medical Treatment Overseas Program (MTOP) but were rejected because they don't provide assistance for clinical trials, Hannah will have to pay for the 6 months of treatment – at an enormous cost.
I’m going to be completing the 80km coastal walk from Manly to Bondi within a 24hr period on Friday 20th October and Hannah and Simon’s sister-in-law Jenny is also running a half marathon to help raise funds. I’m hoping we can spread this far and wide so we can pull together to help Hannah raise the funds needed to travel to Singapore. Every dollar will bring us one step closer to Hannah getting the treatment she so desperately needs.
