Help Greg Lewis fight Brain Cancer

Doação protegida
Out of the blue, on 19th of April 2018 Greg had a seizure. He was 18 years of age at the time. The CT scan immediately after the seizure showed that there was an area of calcification in the brain. He was told that the calcification was probably caused  by a vein that had burst when he was a child, and that this was the likely cause of the seizure.

A MRI scan a few days later revealed that Greg had a brain tumour which must have originated from the calcification. On the 1st of June 2018 Greg had brain surgery. The tumour was debulked and sent for pathology analysis. The pathology results revealed that Greg had a grade 3 Anaplastic Ganglioglioma.

Greg started radiation and chemotherapy on the 11th of July 2018 for a period of six and a half weeks. After a break of 4 weeks, he commenced the next round of chemotherapy.  On the 13th of September 2018, a MRI scan was done to evaluate the effectiveness of the radiation and chemotherapy treatments. The scan revealed that it looked as if the tumour had increased in size, but he was advised that it may be a false progression because of possible swelling post Radiation treatment. It was decided to wait 2 months for another MRI scan. This scan was done on the 12th of November 2018 which verified that the Radiation and Chemotherapy treatment had not worked and that the tumour had increased significantly in size.

Greg underwent aggressive brain surgery on the 23rd of November 2018 (a day after his 19th birthday) to remove as much of the tumour as possible. Despite the surgeons best attempt to remove the tumour in its entirety, because of the nature of the tumour, not all of it could be removed.

With few options, and no guarantee that other Chemotherapy treatments will work, and after much research and talking to other people who have overcome or are fighting Cancer, it has been deemed that the best course of treatment, would be for Greg to attend a Cancer Clinic in Thailand where he will receive individualised integrative Cancer Treatments enabling him to fight the tumour from a number of medical and  natural fronts.

The treatment in Thailand is envisaged to be 8 weeks in duration, and as such will be very expensive.
