Help Grand Central Music keep the music alive

My husband Dan and I (Kathy) own Grand Central Music in San Luis Obispo California and have already been through many challenges over the last 15 years, but COVID-19 has been the toughest. Even in the best of times this kind of crisis would challenge any business, but Dan has had serious health issues several surgeries and kidney disease) that affected our business health as well over the past several years. The business has also had to move 4 times in 15 years. Dan has adapted and Grand Central Music continues to do business.
Here is how you can help. Grand Central Music intends to continue providing musicians with the supplies they need to live-stream their music and continue receiving some sort of income while sheltering in place. With the closure of live venues playing online for tips has become their only source of income. We have been able to provide free guitar strings (with help from Ernie Ball Music) and would like to continue that and more.
What we will do with the donations. Until the government programs are available for small businesses to access, (our SBA loan is already submitted) we will need to buy inventory and pay our overhead expenses. We would also need advertising dollars to let customers know that our teachers are offering online learning so everyone can keep up with their lessons and the teachers can count on some income. Our teachers are like family and we want to keep them working through this corona virus crisis.
Dan also wants to pay it forward by offering *free guitar restringing for a year for each donation of $200 or more and for free private music lessons for each donation of $110 or more. *One restring each month for 12 months includes Ernie Ball strings this is good for acoustic and electric with non-floating tremolo’s.
With the shelter in place order, normal business is not normal and that means no cash flow (or very little). Every little bit helps right now and keeping music in the lives of our community is part of our music mission at Grand Central Music.
