Help Grace & Ashley sustain the CRPUSD Strike!

The teachers and staff of the Cotati-Rohnert Park Unified School District, where my sister Grace has worked for over seven years, have gone on strike to fight for a living wage. After nearly a year of negotiations, the fact-finder ruling favored the teachers union. They found that the district does have the money in its budget to give teachers and staff raises. CRPUSD teachers and staff are paid $20,000 less than the state average. Unfortunately, the school board is not willing to negotiate. Grace is going on day four without pay, and there is no end in sight. She and her co-workers face the problematic situation of missing days of pay to stand up for their rights or crossing the picket line to make ends meet.

Adding to this hardship, Ashley (Grace’s wife), a hard-working EMT, has an upcoming major surgery that will put her out of work for 6-weeks.

Let's stand together for these two working-class moms, who are brave enough to sacrifice their financial security to stand for what's right.....a good education for our children by teachers and staff who can sustain their families!
