On Saturday, May 22, 2021 in DRC - GOMA, Nyiragongo Volcano exploded, leaving hundreds of thousands of displaced people amid threats of new disasters.

Smoke and ash billow from the cone of Mount Nyiragongo, one of the world’s most active volcanoes, instead of the molten lava that streamed from its flanks on May 22, killing dozens of people and destroying 5,000 homes in Goma and Rubavu.

Even after the tremors and aftershocks that terrorized this region, collapsing buildings and triggering a mass evacuation, have largely stopped, citizens of these neighboring cities are still struggling to get back on their feet.

We are raising money for the families communities located in the foothills of Nyiragongo volcano that were in the path of the eruption and lost their livelihoods. Specifically, we will put the funds collected towards helping affected families to survive in these immediate days after the eruption and to begin rebuilding their homes:

- food
-water
-school supplies
- flashlights and batteries
- shoes, clothes
- personal hygiene items
- blankets
- furniture (tables, beds, chairs)
- basic kitchen supplies
- tin sheets for roof and house construction & building supplies
- toys for children etc…

We recognize the delay. We were working hard to get in touch with community leaders and and the charity organization who can better reach victims of this disaster.
