Help Goannas Deaf Men's Basketball

The Australian Deaf Mens Basketball Team, known as the Goannas, are currently training to represent Australia and the Australian Deaf community at the 2023 World Deaf Basketball Championships, to be held this June in Heraklion, Greece.

This will be the first time our team has competed in an international tournament since the Deaflympics 2017, and we need your help to get us there.

To attend the World Championships in Greece, 13th -25th June 2023, each athlete is expected to cover the costs of:

Flights - $3,500

Accommodation - $2,000

Auslan Interpreting/Court Hire/Transport - $1,000

Training Camp Costs - $1,500

In total, each athlete will need to cover approximately $8,000 in order to represent Australia at the World Deaf Basketball Championships.

We have set our team fundraising goal of $10,000, with the aim to help reduce the overall cost for each player.
