Help Giuli - Radiotherapy and Chemotherapy

Donation protected
For those who don't know, this is Giuli. A brave, kind and happy 29 years old woman. She is a Brazilian student residing in Australia since 2019. She needs our help!

Please read her story! (for Portuguese version, please scroll down. )

"In 2018 when I was 25yo, I was diagnosed with a brain tumour and had to undergo surgery to remove it. The surgery was very successful, but in the post-surgical MRI, the doctors found that the tumour had not been removed entirely. The medical recommendation was to follow up every 6 months to see if it would grow again. And for two years it kept intact. After going through all this, in 2019, my husband and I decided to turn over the page and cross the world to experience a new adventure in Australia. And we loved this country!! We are working and studying hard to try for a better chance in life.

However, in my last medical test, the tumour has shown continuous growth and could at any moment turn into cancer. So on 25th August 2021, I had my second surgery to remove the tumour, this time here in Australia. As I am not eligible for Medicare, we had to pay $10,000 out of pocket. My private health insurance covered the other surgery costs.

My second surgery was also a success! I'm still recovering, but according to my doctor, it doesn't even seem like I had brain surgery a month ago. I still feel very tired for daily physical and mental activities (which makes it impossible for me to work and study).
Before the surgery, the doctors had warned me of the need to carry out conventional treatments for cancer: chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

For radiotherapy, I will go every morning from Monday to Friday for six weeks. After that, it will be another 6 months of chemotherapy. This whole process will be very draining both physically and emotionally (not counting the medical warning that I can definitely become sterile).
These are the treatment prices:
- Radiotherapy: 31k
- Chemotherapy: 2k

All those procedures will probably keep me from working for more than a year, and my husband is working hard to pay all our personal expenses, my doctor expenses, visa expenses, school and all other student expenses. Time passes, despair increases, dreams seem to be far away, but I have faith in God that I can reach my goal to be able to complete my treatments.

I sincerely appreciate all the help we have received so far.
God bless you all,
Giuli."
