GIRLvsCANCER Raising £50k To Support Patients

GIRLvsCANCER is an inclusive community led platform that exists to bring about essential change for those impacted by cancer.

To do what needs to be done to empower anyone - whether woman, femme, they / them - dealing with a diagnosis and impact improvements of the cancer experience for everyone in the UK.

We are currently awaiting our charity number which will grant us access to funding options and allow GIRLvsCANCER to scale up their support to reach more people and impact greater change.

With the backlog at the Charity Commission being over 6 months we are desperately trying to raise £50,000 of essential funds to power us as we step into this next phase.

The money raised will be spent on vital software, hiring team members and data management to enable GIRLvsCANCER to conduct their own grassroots research and be the driving force for the change the community so desperately wants and needs.

We exist for everyone afraid to speak its name.

For the friends, the families. The ones who feel isolated, lost, confused and ashamed.

For those who refuse to be defined by others. Or by their hospital numbers.

Who are bored of “brave”, “inspirational” and every other tired label.

But carry scars, visible and invisible, just the same.

We’re here to wave two fingers in the face of stigma.

Screaming ‘NAH MATE’ at the taboos holding us back.

We exist to show that rogue cell mutations do not make the human.

That one-size-fits-all doesn’t help us. At all.

That strength comes from sharing our vulnerabilities. Not people’s sympathy.

We’re done with the way it’s always been done.

With talking the talk in place of taking the action.

We’re ripping up the rule book and forging a new path.

One where those affected by cancer seize control of the narrative.

One where the world’s perception of cancer can be left where it belongs. In the past.
