Wheels for Ginger

If you're reading this, you may already know that Ginger's right hindlimb was amputated 3/1/2017 due to an irreparable break caused by a bone tumor.  I am so grateful to report that over 18 months have passed and she is still cancer-free! My strong and determined girl not only learned to get around on 3 legs but chased squirrels, went on hikes and navigated 163 acres of hilly terrain while we lived at a retreat center in Anderson Valley.

Age and time have had their effects, however, and in recent months, the arthritis in her back and joints has caused weakness in her remaining hindlimb and she is unable to walk without assistance.

I have been using a sling to give her support but would love to give her the freedom afforded by her own set of wheels!

Carts give dogs a new lease on life. With the added support, they can once again explore, sniff, and even run at their own pace.  The freedom and mobility lifts their spirits which has a significant impact on life expectancy. Eddie's Wheels will custom fabricate the cart to Ginger's measurements to ensure a great fit.  Unfortunately, insurance won't cover the cost and they aren't inexpensive.

I'm hoping that all of her dear friends will contribute to this amazing gift for our sweet girl so she can keep emanating love to everyone she encounters for a long time to come.  If you've ever been in the field of Ginger's love, been inspired by her determination, or just appreciate the deep bond we share, I hope you'll be moved to help us out.

Thanks to the wonderful outpouring of support, we raised enough money to cover the wheels in just 4 hours! That is truly a testament to the impact she has had on so many people. I have increased the amount to cover rehab and chiropractic sessions too in the event more people are moved to contribute. Thank you all for your generosity! I am truly humbled.
