Help Get Ousaf to Wake Forest!

Donation protected

I need your help in raising $2,750 by June 15.

My friend Ousaf, a previous Vincent J. Binder Urban Debate League Scholar, was accepted into a very prestigious summer debate workshop at Wake Forest University—only 25 kids throughout the nation are invited to attend. This is a huge opportunity for Ousaf, not only to improve his debate and overall academic skills, but to gain access to a college debate network that could make or break his ability to afford college next year. We have a huge goal to hit in a short amount of time, but every contribution and share can help make it possible. This is so important to me. I really hope you’ll consider helping.

Ousaf is 17 years old, a rising senior at Lane Tech in Chicago, and a first generation American. His parents emigrated to the U.S. from Pakistan and though his “argumentative nature” may annoy them sometimes, they are immensely proud of all that he is accomplishing in school and through debate.

Ousaf has been debating for three years, reaching elimination rounds and earning speaker awards at a number of local and national tournaments. Debate has made him a better student—one of the most engaged in his classes. Beyond helping him build research and public speaking skills, debate has given him a supportive community that encourages him to dream big and work hard. Ousaf hopes his commitment to debate may help him earn a scholarship to attend college next year.
