I am a mum of a disabled young lady called Lyndsay (lynn) She was restrained at a complex needs school by 4 male staff. I have been campaigning for 6 years. There was a criminal case but PF office felt they did not have enough evidence to proceed.  They say this wasn’t due to her disability but I feel this is untrue. (She’s not capable of testifying in court)
I am now preparing to take this to civil court so no other child/family need to go through what myself and other families have been facing for years.

I am working with an amazing legal team but unfortunately they can’t continue to work for free on our behalf.  We need to pay court fees , lawyers, medical experts and Advocates etc

For civil cases there is no legal aid available.

I have tried every route possible now I need to get to court to get my girl justice along with all the other children I know have been affected by restraint. I have petitioned Scottish Parliment with no joy as they all have links in Education. Similar to our local elected members a lot of them are school teachers and out of 77 elected members in my area only 4 stood by my request for CCTV to be installed in schools.  They were all whipped by there parties. One poor councillor was even suspended for agreeing that this is wrong.

Our story is not  uncommon although people are often shocked at the pictures of my daughter. I told our story to a newspaper and was overwhelmed by the people who contacted me to tell me of there own situations. I had originally thought we were a 1 off case but there were hundreds of emails and messages.

The day this happened I took Lyndsay to hospital After she was sent home looking like this , where immediately they were questioning me on the incident. The consultant of 22 years said she had never seen anything like it. We spent hours getting bloods checked and xrays, police questioning to be faced with no justice. Lyndsay then spent a year and half at school an hours drive from our home. Everyday she went out I felt sick with worry.  At the new school she was never restrained, thank god. Luckily now I don’t have that as I have an amazing team of people who surround her now. The bruises have healed but the memories will always remain in my mind. I used to wonder why she hated school and why she was upset going there..... I used to force her to go but I honestly didn’t realise this was what was happening to her until the day she came home looking like this.

Never once have I had an apology nor has my girl had justice. As a mum if I did this I would immediate be locked up why ????  Because it’s wrong that’s why ..... unfortunately I’m fighting a huge battle continuously.
Without money my battle can’t continue and as a mum I will sell an organ if I need to and may even end up representing my daughter myself in court to keep costing down.

If anyone can offer anything else apart from money I’m also happy to accept this too. Sharing our story is also beneficial xx
