help get indie “bluebell system” a memorial

hi my name is Annabell and I was a good friend of indie‘s. We only met for the first time on a psych ward but we had been speaking to each other for a long time before that. we both arrived on the same day which we thought was a really lucky coincidence. instantly we went from being alone in this to having someone there.

indie was the kindest purist soul I have ever met. she cared so much for other people and always put others first. she had a smile that was so contagious. it breaks my heart that she is not here today. at just 20 years old she has sadly lost her battle with her mental health; in the place that’s literally only there to keep you safe.

not just was indie an amazing person but she was also a huge mental health activist with over 120k people behind her and their whole system.

indie also had DID (dissociative identity disorder, previously known as multiple personality disorder). so she wasn’t alone, she was a whole system of people including river, fae, scarlet, chai and others! each bringing their own bit to make indie who she was.

she was failed by the ward that was there to keep her safe. Failed to the highest possible level. And it was so preventable but they didn’t listen or care enough to actually want to save us and as a result indie has lost her life.

i wanted a way to pay my respects and give other people the chance to and hopefully we can do that through a bench.

this is a passing that has had a huge impact on the mental health community all over the world. the bluebell system really touched the hearts of hundreds of thousands. and not just saved my life but potentially others.

the bench hadn’t yet got a set location but will definitely be surrounded by bluebells
